Harvey Girls and Dads 4 Dads win award

The Volunteer team for Harvey Girls and dads 4 Dads were awarded the “Recognising the valuable contribution the volunteer team make” award at this year’s East Staffordshire Council of Voluntary Services Volunteer Awards. The team were put forward by the organisation to recognise the hard work they had completed for the families it supports this year.

Emily Vinall, Senior Project Coordinator of Harvey Girls states, “This year has seen several new volunteers join our Volunteer team and this team has gone from strength to strength. We now have an active volunteer team of 12 volunteers who help our staff team to support young parents in East Staffordshire. We hold group sessions each week and the volunteers prepare a hot and healthy meal for the young parents and their children and ensure that all families are happy and comfortable in our sessions. They also help the young parents to engage with the activities educational and support the children to engage in their play activity. They support the organisation to run trips for the families and offer a listening ear to the parents, they give their assistance to the parents with their interaction with their children and help with organisational fundraising.”
