Harvey Girls established in 2003, and was originally set up to support young teenage mums with children under the age of 5. Funded by the Big Lottery Community Fund, we have now broadened our reach to support mums of any age, and their child(ren) aged 5 years and under. Sessions are delivered from community venues across East Staffordshire and provide a precious opportunity to spend time with your child and learn creative ways to interact with your child and enhance their development.
Harvey Girls Sessions are underpinned by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, encouraging mums and their children to connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give back to the local community, with the aim of enhancing physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Dads4Dads was established as a direct response to dads needing just as much support as mums when bringing up their families. Sessions run on a Saturday morning and offer dads and their children (of any age) to get together for educational and fun activities. As with Harvey Girls sessions, dads sessions are underpinned by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, encouraging dads and their children to get active, take notice, keep learning, connecting with the community and giving back.

Beyond Black Belt
We have built an amazing partnership with a local martial arts school – Beyond Black Belt. We hold sessions here every Thursday evening for the whole family, encouraging them to spend time together getting active and enhancing family relationships. These sessions are open to families working with East Staffordshire Family Support, and we hope to extend this provision in the future. If you’re interested in taking part please get in contact with your Family Support Worker.
